Best Kindle Fire Apps

I received my Kindle Fire yesterday and was overall happy with the device. You can hold it easy in one hand with a responsive operating system and a great screen. It’s much smaller than my Galaxy Tab 10.1 but there are advantages like being able to put it in your pockets when you are on the go. The look and feel of the Kindle Fire is simple and easy to navigate which is very different than other Android tablets. Having played around with the device it was time to find out about apps. The Kindle Fire has access only to the Amazon Appstore which is much smaller then the Android Market but there are still plenty of options and apps. I did my research and put together what I think are essential apps that you’ll want to install on your Kindle Fire.

OneLouder apps makes some of the best social apps and TweetCaster is no exception. TweetCaster updated their app to version 5.0 with a clean UI optimized for the phone and tablet in one app. The tablet version boast a visually appealing UI that is significantly different from any other Twitter client. TweetCaster includes a new search function called Search Party that enables more accurate searching with filters. The app supports multiple accounts along with adjustable fonts and colors. You can view photos and videos within the app and retweet or retweet with comments. Conversations are threaded for convenience and links are colored. When composing new tweets you can post to multiple account and simultaneously to Facebook. Overall my impressions of TweetCaster are very positive and I really love the UI on the Kindle Fire. Download link.

There is no official Facebook app for the Kindle Fire but that’s no problem because we have FriendCaster by OneLouder apps. The app allows you to access all of the Facebook features in a tablet friendly design. In landscape mode the layout is clean with two columns including a vertical menu bar on the left. The top ActionBar has options for status updates with privacy setting, refresh and notifications. The navigation menu gives you access to news feeds, profile, friends, photos, checkins, messages, groups, events, chat and pages.
