I received my Kindle Fire yesterday and was overall happy with the device. You can hold it easy in one hand with a responsive operating system and a great screen. It’s much smaller than my Galaxy Tab 10.1 but there are advantages like being able to put it in your pockets when you are on the go. The look and feel of the Kindle Fire is simple and easy to navigate which is very different than other Android tablets. Having played around with the device it was time to find out about apps. The Kindle Fire has access only to the Amazon Appstore which is much smaller then the Android Market but there are still plenty of options and apps. I did my research and put together what I think are essential apps that you’ll want to install on your Kindle Fire.

There are different birds each with their own abilities and many levels to play. It’s a great physical based casual game that you will play for hours. Oh yeah and it’s free. Download link.
Fruit Ninja
Wow, who knew that slicing fruit could be so much fun. You are a ninja in training and to hone your schools you must slice some fruit. The game is easy to play but hard to master. As fruits come flying across the screen you must swipe with your finger to slice the fruit. But just slicing won’t get you anywhere as combos are the real trick. The more fruit you can slice in one swipe the higher the points. There are also bombs to avoid while bananas will give you extra help like freeze, frenzy and double points. There are three modes of game play which include arcade, classic and zen mode. The game is free so go ahead and slice some fruit already. Download
